Hi there! I'm Sam, an Art Generalist turned Technical Artist.
Previously, I worked at Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, visualizing complex scientific data and turning it into a wide range of interactive experiences, ranging from mobile, all the way to VR, through all levels of stylization.
As an Art Generalist, I confidently know my way around creating concept art, 3D modelling (low, mid, high), rigging, mesh paint, rendering, and texture baking and painting, both in 2D and 3D.
My true love, however, lies with Technical Art, especially authoring shaders and materials. I cherish enabling my fellow developers with code and art frameworks, and the fascinating experiences our work results in! I have developed a deep understanding of optimization, import and export pipelines, UI, animation, IK, and VFX, among other things.
There's nothing I quite love as collaborating with other creatives. I frequently channel my creativity into my own passions, like Retro and Y2K Science Fiction, and enhance it through my interdisciplinary background and sense of function and style.
